Perkinsville Rd to Jerome (Girls Tribe Run)
September 7, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
This graded dirt road travels through fascinating scenery between Perkinsville and the former ghost town of Jerome. The trail travels on ridge tops and on a section of the old United Verde & Pacific Railroad grade as it makes its final descent into Jerome. The trail, which also forms part of the Great Western Trail, is roughly graded along its length, although a few rough spots make it more suitable for high-clearance vehicles.
Meet Up: TBD
Trail Rating: Easy/Moderate
Special Attractions: Many varied views, including the Woodchute Wilderness, Jerome, and the Verde Valley; Route follows a section of the historic United Verde & Pacific Railroad; Rockhounding for Perkinsville agate. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions.”
