The new GlueTread Full-Size Sidewall Kit features an improved rubber formula and doesn't include the accelerator. Here's why:
GlueTread has enhanced the rubber formula to ensure the adhesive cures more quickly without needing the accelerator. Omitting the accelerator from the kit allows the adhesive to last longer, as storing it alongside the adhesive often causes the adhesive to slowly cure within the tube.
Feedback indicates that patches applied without the accelerator adhere more effectively and last longer on compromised sidewalls. With the improved rubber formula, the cure time without the accelerator is around ten minutes.
Note that the kit is for off-road use only.
